Will Pinnacle be used for student progress reporting?
The vision at ROMS is to provide "continuous" academic progress viewing to students and parents.  It is evident that when information is available to the parents and students about classroom assignments and the completion of those assignments, then the students' academic performance is more consistent.  The Pinnacle Internet Viewer (PIV) provides this capability of progress reporting.  The use of the PIV will be implemented at ROMS, but will necessitate an implementation plan and timeline.  Not everyone will be trained and ready to use the PIV when ROMS opens in the fall.

What clubs and after-school activities will be offered at the new middle school?
Royal Oak Middle School will offer a variety of clubs and after-school activities for students in grades 6-8.  In addition to competitive athletics in grades 7 and 8, after-school programs will include, but will not be limited to, intramural sessions in volleyball, basketball, football skills, gymnastics, and floor hockey.  Clubs will include Homework Club, National Junior Honor Society, Future Cities, Model UN, Chess Club, and others.

Offerings will change as a reflection of both the interests of students and the interests of teacher sponsors.  Students will be given an orientation to all after-school programs during the first few days of school and schedules of offerings will be sent home to all parents.
