What a wonderful year we have had! It is so hard to believe it is June, already! Our Fifth Graders are almost ready to move on to the secondary level, our other students will be moving up to the next grade level and we will soon welcome our new Kindergarten to Oak Ridge School!

DATA is one very important tool we use to evaluate the individual needs of our students. DATA drives our instruction and allows us to dig deeper when there are concerns about learning. Conversely, DATA will also validate the upward progress a student is making. DATA confirms our direction for instruction. There is no guessing involved!

Differentiation in education means that there is no single approach to teaching and learning with all students. Differentiation is simply a teacher attending to the learning needs of a particular student or small group of students, rather than teaching a class as though all individuals were alike. The enthusiasm to embrace the idea of differentiated instruction is alive and well at Oak Ridge Elementary!
