Bus Stop Safety

At a recent Board of Education meeting a speaker during Citizen's Comment stated that some bus stops were unsafe.

This is categorically false.

Most bus stops used by the School District have been used in previous years.  Also, before the school year starts all bus stops are forwarded to the Royal Oak Police Department for review.   Drivers receive their runs before school starts and are encouraged to test drive their run and identify any issues.  Additionally, if a staff member or member of the community has a concern about a specific bus stop they may contact the Royal Oak Transportation Department at 248-545-0064 extension 248 and share their concern.

The School District of the City of Royal Oak has always operated a safe transportation system and will do so in the future.
