Fran Anderson Michigan PTSA Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior that will be entering college in Fall 2010. Eligible applicants must:
- Be a high school senior
- Be a member of a PTSA in good standing
- Maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average
- Be college bound in the state of Michigan
- Participate in PTA/PTSA activities

Michigan State Youth Soccer Association Scholarship
Each winter, MSYSA awards five worthy high school seniors with a $1,000 college scholarship. Applicants will be chosen based on a variety of factors including academic success, community involvement, and how they have given back to soccer. All eligible high school seniors are encouraged to apply.
All applications must be received by January 15, 2010. Applications can be found on the MSYSA website at http://www.michiganyouthsoccer.org/under the "Programs" tab and then "Scholarships". Please contact MSYSA at State Office @michiganyouthsoccer.org with questions.

National Council of Jewish Women
Honoring exceptional high school seniors through its Jewish Youth Awards. This program seeks to recognize students who demonstrate leadership both in their school and in the Jewish community. All eligible high school seniors are invited to apply. To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Have a formal Jewish education (e.g. having become a Bar/Bat Mitzvah
- Having been Consecrated or Confirmed
- Be actively involved in the Jewish community

Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation Scholarship
Foundation is sponsoring a $20,000 scholarship for one young woman from Michigan who plans on majoring in Information Technology. Applications are due by January 31, 2010. www.mcwtf.org Click on "University" the "Scholarships." Details of the eligibility rules are there.

Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation

SCHOLARSHIP ATHLETE MILK MUSTACHE OF THE YEAR
The purpose of the SAMMY 2010 award program is to recognize an outstanding scholar/athlete from high schools throughout the United States. An athlete from ROHS can be one of the twenty-five winners. One $1,000 award to a ROHS student with a 2.5+ GPA. They offer a scholarship to students enrolling in a two year or four year health care program. Examples of eligible heath care and rehabilitation careers include: physical therapy/PT assistants, occupational therapy/OT assistants, medical records, nursing (RN, LPN, CAN), medical assistants, volunteer service, work experience, and school activities will be heavily considered during the selection process. http://www.specialtree.com/Apply online. ROYAL OAK ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
Applications are available in the SSC. Selection will be based upon academic achievement, community service, financial need, seriousness of purpose and insightful planning.

was established in 1995 to give out scholarships to children in the Tri-county Area, The 2010 Scholarship Program is underway. Interested students should go to their website at: http://www.communitycaring.org/for a downloadable scholarship application packet.

(Need not be a St. Joseph volunteer to qualify). St. Joseph Mercy volunteers offer (2) two, $2,000 scholarships to individuals entering a 2 or 4-year curriculum in the health care industry. Applicants must have a 3.0+ GPA and attend a Michigan College/University. The applications are available in the SSC.

Oakland Community College Chancellor's Scholarship
Must have applied to OCC. This scholarship is worth $2,000, for students who will be attending OCC. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Every high school in Oakland County receives one scholarship and there have been years where other high schools do not use the award and ROHS students have won three scholarships. Official transcript must include 7th semester grades.

OUR Credit Union three $1,000 Scholarships for 2010!
Our Credit Union has been offering scholarships to graduating seniors since 1992. The credit union has given out over $55,000 in scholarships over the last 17 years. Currently, OUR Credit Union is rolling out its 2010 Scholarship applications online at http://www.ourcuonline.org/. The credit union offers three scholarships for members:
- Royal Oak High School's School-To-Career Scholarship For any student who has taken two vocational classes at Royal Oak High School during their four years of high school. This scholarship is in conjunction with OUR Credit Union's 18-year partnership with Royal Oak Neighborhood Schools. Deadline: March 19, 2010
- Theodore Cologie Memorial Scholarship For any graduating high school senior that is a member of OUR Credit Union. Deadline: April 16, 2010
- Gwen Barr Memorial Scholarship For any person who has graduated from high school prior to the application deadline and is pursuing their postsecondary education at an accredited institution Deadline: March 19, 2010.
Each of these scholarships are valued at $1,000 and can be used at any vocational school, two year or 4 year college. The funds can be used for tuition or books over the 2010-2011 school year. Applicants can download applications at http://www.ourcyonline.org/. All applicants must be an OUR Credit Union member a minimum of three months prior to the application deadline. Realtors Association Scholarship Fund
Applicants must be resident of the state of Michigan, graduating seniors enrolled in a college or university in Michigan as an undergraduate student. Numerous scholarships are awarded.

Michigan State University Alumni Club Of Oakland County
Scholarships are available for seniors accepted to MSU, $1,250 non renewable. Required 3.54.0GPA. To receive an application electronically, go to www.msuoakland.com. The form is Microsoft word. Due: March 26, 2010. Applications also available in the SSC.

School Safety Patrol Scholarship Program offers a $1000 scholarship. You must have at least a 3.0 GPA, 21 ACT and documented proof (letter or certificate) of safety patrol service. One student will be nominated from Royal Oak High School. Applications are available in the Student Service Center. All applications are due to the SSC by March 30, 2010

Royal Oak Community Coalition Scholarship Opportunity
A $500 scholarship will be presented to one senior high school student who lives in Royal Oak or who attends a school in Royal Oak and who meet the following criteria:

Has made a commitment to be drug/alcohol free

Has participated in community service and/or extra curricular school activities
The candidate shall complete the scholarship application and an essay or power point entitled: "Why I am Drug and Alcohol Free". Applications are available in the SSC.

offers (2) $3,000 awards to students who wish to enter a 4-year Health Related profession. 3.2+ GPA required.

Is pleased to offer one-time, non-renewable $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are members of Michigan First Credit Union and attending one of the participating high schools within the communities we serve. The recipients are determined by each high school's selection committee or designee and are selected on the basis of academic achievement, community involvement, special talents, leadership, civic and social responsibility and financial need. Scholarships awarded will be applied to the student's first year of college only. Applications available in the SSC.

Detroit Economic Club Scholarship
Two (2) $2,000 awards, renewable for a total of $8,000 each.
- Strong academic performance (minimum of 3.2 cumulative grade point average) and strong standardized test scores
- Leadership demonstrated through extracurricular or volunteer activities and paid work experience
- Demonstrated financial need based on the completion of the FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and submission of the results as part of the scholarship process.

Donald M. Currie Memorial Scholarship (Royal Oak PTA)
Five (5) $800 scholarships will be awarded to ROHS students.Selection will be based on scholarship, character, need,achievement, work and extracurricular activities. Due April 1, 2010. Applications are available in the SSC.

Michigan Retailers Association
At least 30 scholarships for up to $1000 are available through the Michigan Retailers Foundation. Eligibility: Dependant children of owners of MRA-member businesses or full-time employees at MRA-member business; part-time employees at MRA-member businesses who are also full-time students. You may apply online at http://www.retailers.com/ or call 800.366.3699 for an application by March 15th.

Michigan State Troopers Assistance Fund Scholarship:
$1000 based on grades (3.25+ GPA), financial need and essay on your community involvement and commitment. Need not be going into law enforcement. Must be postmarked by April 1, 2010. Applications are available in the SSC.

Royal Oak Arts Council ($1,000 scholarships)
Entrant must be an individual or group that is involved in the visual, literary, or performing arts. Entrant must submit a written application prior to April and make sure to describe adequately how the scholarship will be used where and when. Applicants must submit 3 examples of their work either by slide, photograph, video or audiotapes. Also include two letter of recommendation. Applicants must be able to satisfy scholarship committee that they are in need of financial support and are pursuing further studies in the arts. Applications available in the SSC.

Three grants, $1,000 each. Criteria: Financial need, 2.5+ GPA, 3 personal references. Applications available in the SSC.

AMERICAN POLISH ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION Two $1,000 awards to one female and one male student of polish decent, with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Must enroll in a field of engineering or allied science curriculum. Applications in SSC
Deadline: April 2
is funding two $500 scholarships that will be awarded to the top male and female applicants. An applicant must be a high school senior, have played a minimum of two years in either or both the ROBF and/or ROSL or GSA, and live in the city of Royal Oak or the Royal Oak School District. Must be received by April 2nd.

Awarded to a senior from ROHS. One $1,000 award renewable for a total of $4,000. Demonstrated academic excellence with particular emphasis in Mathematics, Sciences, Industrial Arts, and Engineering. Demonstrated achievement, creativity, leadership, and the "entrepreneur spirit" in activities at school, in his or her community, and in other areas of their life. Preference given to engineering or business related fields. Applications in SSC.

2010 STUDENT-VIEW SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The 2010 Student-view Scholarship Program is offering $8,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. Simply log on to http://www.student-view.com/ and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship deadline is

A $350.00 scholarship is available to a ROHS senior attending an accredited college located in the State of Michigan. Minimum 2.7+ GPA is required.

Daniel Creswell Football memorial Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior who is on the football team, has a minimum of a 2.75 GPA, and will attend a four-year college or university in the state of Michigan.

Fred Pieper Memorial Scholarship
One $300.00 award available for a female athlete. Good citizenship and financial need will be a factor, as well as athletic participation.
Deadline: April 23rd.
One $500 scholarship. The recipient must:
- Have a minimum 2.25 grade point
- Be accepted as a full time student at a 2 or 4 year college
- Have participated in one or more high school athletic team
- Have a recommendation from one or more teachers or coaches
- And MUST have exhibited GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP in his or her sport

Jack Shader Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
Student must attend a four-year college or university in the state of Michigan and had outstanding service to their high school.

John Borowski Memorial Scholarship
A $300 award for a Royal Oak High School senior who meets the following criteria: Must be in the band, 3.25+ GPA, and participate in at least one extra-curricular activity. Application available from Mr. Jensen and the SSC.

Offers one $500 award. An essay must be submitted centering on the Constitution, civil liberties and equal rights. Interested students should see Mrs. Brown in the SSC.

A $500 non-renewable award to a student with a 3.0+ GPA, some sports involvement, and writes the required short essay.

Norman Horowitz Scholarship One time scholarship offered to a student who will pursue a career in science who has shown outstanding achievement in science-related course work. Ingenuity, curiosity, thirst for knowledge, character, and intensiveness will be considered.

OAK RIDGE ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP ($500 AWARD)
The applicant must have attended Oak Ridge Elementary and maintained a 2.5 GPA or higher. The applicant must provide a current high school transcript; two letters of recommendation, one from a high school teacher, one from a counselor administrator; a list of Oak Ridge teachers who instructed the applicant. The applicant will also need to submit an essay regarding meaningful experiences at Oak Ridge. Submit the signed and dated application to Oak Ridge Elementary Office.

Royal Oak High School Staff Recognition Scholarship
is awarded to two seniors based on outstanding character and high academic achievement. Applications for this scholarship are available in the Student Service Center.

William S. Broomfield Citizenship Scholarship
A $5,000 award for freshman year. A minimum GPA of 2.0 and demonstrated involvement in high school with good citizenship and leadership is required.

MATT AND HEATHER LICHTLE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
$4,000 to a ROHS student, $2,000 freshman year and $2000 sophomore year. The student must have between a 2.0 and 3.0 GPA and enrolled in a 2 year or 4 year college.
Applications are due: April 28, 2010.
ROYAL OAK EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT ASSOCIATION (ROESA)
Offers (2) $300.00 scholarships
Criteria:

- 1stconsideration given to children of ROESA members

U of M Sigma Phi Epsilon Balance Man Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship and a $500 scholarship are available to any male attending the University of Michigan in the fall of 2010. Applications are at http://www.uofmsigep.com/. Sigma Phi Epsilon is seeking to recognize outstanding individuals in the area of academics, athletics and community service.
Application deadline is May 14th. You are under no obligation to join the fraternity.
Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan
Offers the Schureman Scholarship Program to children who have lost their fathers because of death or loss of parental rights, with a scholarship of $7,500 for use at one of the 15 public universities in Michigan. http://www.cfsem.org/
Candidates must also:
- Complete the Free Application for Student Aid for the 2010-11 (available January 1, 2010) and demonstrate need at the chosen university
- Demonstrate strong scholastic achievement by maintaining a grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale)
- Demonstrate leadership and character through extra curricular activities, service in school and in the community, volunteer involvement and paid work experience.
- Select a major that leads to a career in law, dentistry, nursing or medicine.

DETROIT ECONOMIC CLUB SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan)
Two tri-county students graduating in June 2010, and enrolling in college in the fall of 2010, will be selected to receive a $2,000 scholarship. These scholarships are renewable for the three additional years that the recipients are in college.
- Strong academic performance (minimum of 3.2 cumulative GPA) and strong standardized test scores
- Leadership demonstrated through extracurricular or volunteer activities and paid work experience
- Demonstrated financial need based on the completion of the FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and submissions of the results as part of the scholarship process.
- Overcoming hardship to achieve both academic and personal goals.

Tuition Incentive Program (TIP)
- The State of Michigan offers TIP (Tuition Incentive Program) for students with low incomes. Students are encouraged to attend participating colleges and the tuition will be paid by the state. If your family received assistance from the Department of Social Services, you may be eligible for this college program.

Males who have reached the age of 18 are required to register with Selective Service either at the post office or on the web sit, http://www.sss.gov/. This must be done to apply for financial aid.
COLLEGE APPLICATIONS...
For Michigan colleges are available in the Student-Service Center. Be sure to ask for the Release of Information form. You may have three free transcripts. Additional transcripts are $1.00 each. Completed applications, application fee, and the release of information forms should be turned in to the Student Service Center.

College Campus Visits
You are encouraged to visit college campuses whenever possible. Choosing the right college for you may not be easy. A campus visit is one of the best ways to learn about programs of study, location, cost, size and atmosphere.

- MACLEAN VEHICLE SYSTEMS Awarded to a senior from ROHS. One $1,000 award renewable for a total of $4,000.
