Boy's basketball will be playing Brother Rice tonight for the District Championship @ 7:00 p.m. at Groves High School.

Students:  There will be a locker cleanout during alpha seminar on Wednesday, March 17th.  If you have a lock on your locker, which was not issued at school, you must remove it and request a lock in the main office.  If you do not remove your lock, it will be cut off.

Sophomores who took AP American Government last semester:  If you are interested in taking the AP Government Exam, you must pick up an application form from the SSC counter or Mrs. Gogola.  Application and check are due no later than Friday, March 26th

Junior and Seniors:  Discover your options and the nature of the jobs that interest you, such as educational requirements, salary, work environment, and future outlook by taking the ASVAB Test. The test will be given here at ROHS Tuesday, April 13th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  If interested, please sign up in the Student Service Center.

Seniors:  The Royal Oak High School Staff Recognition Scholarship is awarded to two seniors based on outstanding character and high academic achievement.  Applications for this scholarship are available in the Student Service Center.  Application deadline is April 23rd.

The R. O. Lions Club offers a number of $1,000 scholarships to graduation seniors.  Priority given to a candidate who is hearing or vision impaired or diabetic or who is pursuing a career in health and human services.  A .5+ GPA required as well as significant community service.  Applications are on line at www.royaloaklionsclub.org. Applications are due on May 1st.

Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors: Are you involved in extra-curricular community service and volunteering?  Have you frequently been on the Honor Roll or Principal's List at ROHS?  If you can answer yes to any of these questions, you may be eligible for the Royal Oak High School Achievement Letter.  The Achievement Letter is designed to recognize student who through their involvement in school activities and high academic standards enhance Royal Oak High School.  Please see Mrs. Cutler in room 215 any day before school for more information and forms.  Signatures and verifications will be due by March 19th for any underclassmen.  Senior will have a few more weeks to get these in.  Honors are given at the Academic Awards Ceremony and Convocation.

Students:  If you shop at Barnes & Noble, here is your chance to help out our Michigan PTSA Reflections program.  Pick up a book fair voucher from the counter in the Main Office, Student Service Center, or Media Center and take it with you next time you purchase something at Barnes & Noble at any location.  Present the voucher with your purchase and a percentage will be given to the Michigan PTSA Reflections program.  The vouchers can be used through Friday, March 19th.

Students:  If you missed the Volleyball Marathon deadline for a t-shirt, you can still go!  Turn in your packets by St. Patty's Day, March 17th.  All proceeds will go to make a Leukemia patient's dream come true by going to see Ellen DeGeneres.  So turn in your packets.
