Robofest Competition (4-18-08 Ann Arbor, and 4-26-08 at Lawrence Technological University)

Thanks to Frank Przybylo and Joel Stein (parent) for sponsoring the ROMS’s robotics club.

The Nuclear Apple Corps, ROMS’s team, earned first place in two categories (Exhibition – with the Painting Robot, and Sumo – with Fluffy the Sumo Robot) during last Friday’s (4-18-08) competition.  On April 26, 2008 they are moving on to the World Robofest Championship where they will compete with teams from other states and several countries.  Way to go!!!

Fluffy, our undetectable stealth robot has foam walls so the opponents’ sensor beam gets absorbed. So Fluffy is invisible!: Fluffy fools opponents in the sumo ring by the attached edge to its front. Other robots think they have reached the edge of the wrestling ring and back up and up and up…indefinitely. They fall.
