Jim Moll Appointed Royal Oak High
Jim Moll has been appointed to serve as interim principal at Royal Oak High School (ROHS) for the 2012-2013 school year. This appointment was made by the Board of Education during their regular meeting Thursday, June 14, 2012.
In recommending his appointment to the Board of Education, Superintendent Shawn Lewis-Lakin said, “Since January, Mr. Moll has provided poised leadership for the high school through a time of uncertainty. His leadership has been calm, principled, and student-centered. Staff members, students, and community members have expressed confidence in him. Significant work benefiting students and their learning has been accomplished. I am confident that ROHS will continue to move forward under his leadership.”
During the 2012-2013 school year, input regarding strengths and needs at Royal Oak High School will be solicited from all stakeholders, including students, staff members, parents and guardians, and members of the community. This process will include the development of a leadership profile for a new principal. After this process, a search for a new ROHS principal will be initiated, with the goal of having a new principal identified for the 2013-2014 school year on or before April 15, 2013, so as to provide for an orderly transition.
Lewis-Lakin added “I am grateful for Mr. Moll’s willingness to serve with us through June 2013. I believe that ROHS and our district will benefit not only from his leadership at the high school, but from the time his service will provide us to engage in a very deliberate and intentional process for moving forward.”
