BOARD OF EDUCATION
OCTOBER 25, 2007 MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

1. More than 2,000 guests attended the Royal Oak Middle School Community-wide Open House Saturday, October 20. A special thank you to the Royal Oak Community for their investment in this landmark facility. Our appreciation as well to the Royal Oak Restaurant Association and Chartwells for the delicious food they provided for the event.

2. Yeo & Yeo, the District's independent auditors, reviewed the results of the 2006-07 audit.

3. Announcement of a $244,000 Homeland Security Grant received by the Royal Oak, Berkley and Oak Park School Districts for the purpose of improving and enhancing school safety procedures in the districts.

4. Recall of one teacher for a total of 28 teachers for 2007-2008.

5. Ratification of the two-year ROESA contract agreement for secretarial, clerical and paraprofessional staff.

6. Royal Oak High School Drama Club will present "Beauty and the Beast" in the ROHS Auditorium Friday, November 9, and Saturday, November 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m.
