$103,150 Scholarships Awarded to
Royal Oak Middle and High School Fine Arts Students
ROYAL OAK, MI. - Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp presented $103,150 scholarship awards to 209 Royal Oak High School and Middle School students. High school scholarships totaling $13,390 were awarded to 31 students and scholarships of $89,760 were given to 178 middle school students.
Scholarship auditions were conducted over three days in December by William Tennant, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp Representative. Band, orchestra, vocal music, art and drama students participated. Art students shared a small portfolio of their work, drama students performed an interpretive reading, and instrumental musicians played a short selection of their choice.
"This is a significant sum of money that our students have been awarded," said Janet Von Eberstein, Royal Oak Middle School District Music Coordinator. "We are indeed proud of their hard work and dedication and the strength of the fine arts programs in our District."
