Why is Royal Oak opening its schools to enrollment for non-residents?

Simple. The Royal Oak Neighborhood Schools are looking to maintain maximum enrollment at all of its schools to ensure maximum State of Michigan funding. State funding is one of the main reasons the Royal Oak Neighborhood Schools are able to offer a comprehensive core curriculum, fine arts, music and sports.

In 10 words or less, why should I consider enrolling my child in a Royal Oak Neighborhood School?

Curriculum and location, of course! In fact, the NCA-accredited Royal Oak schools are rated high above the State of Michigan average for reading, math, science and writing. We’re proud to say that last year alone 62 of our students achieved Phi Beta Kappa rank and 60 became National Honor Society members. We also take pride in the fact that these students are products of our elementary schools. The Royal Oak Neighborhood Schools elementary grades through high school grades are: NCA-accredited, highly encouraging of parental involvement, and nurturing learning environments. We also are proud to say that technology is of utmost importance, and we have computers in all classes.

Do I have to apply online?

No, applications are also available at all school offices or from Mary Dybas, Schools of Choice Coordinator at 1123 Lexington Blvd., Royal Oak.
