Royal Oak Model United Nations is an academically-focused leadership and debate organization focused on international education and advocacy. It has debated around the world, met with global leaders, and participated in actual conferences to help resolve issues from farming in poor nations to nuclear policy for Nicaragua. The club spends most of its time in local awareness programs and Model UN conferences with other schools in the Midwest. It meets each Monday after school in the ROHS Media Center. Membership is open in the fall and the spring. Interested students should be prepared to write and research, practice public speaking, and have fun! Other meetings occur as conferences draw close. ROMUN also runs a team at Royal Oak Middle School. Interested students can find more information at www.romun.org.
