1. Best of Royal Oak
- Royal Oak Middle School Future City team received 1st place in the Michigan Future City Competition and Best Transportation System Award at National Competition in Washington D.C.
- Royal Oak High School Interact Club Service Project volunteered over Winter Break in hurricane ravaged New Orleans
- Royal Oak High School senior Raylen Davis awarded first place in Michigan Wrestling Competition
- Royal Oak High School teacher Steve Chisnell named Michigan Teacher of the Year regional finalist
2. Pride of Royal Oak - Royal Oak Teachers of the Year Nominated for Oakland
Schools Outstanding Teacher of the Year
- Patricia Hein, Northwood Elementary 4th Grade Teacher
- Keith Kohring, Royal Oak Middle School Music Teacher
