Upton designated a Green School

Green Schools Program

Upton Elementary was one of six schools in the district to be designated a Green School under Act No.146 Public Act of 2006.

Upton staff and students recycle paper, reuse magazines and newspapers for school projects.

New books on ecology have been added to the Media Center.

Upton has a designated area where the Upton community can recycle printer cartridges, batteries and cell phones.

The school observed Earth Day with a poster contest.

An assembly was held to hear presentations by SOCCRA and students from the high school group, SEA. Upton students learned the importance of recycling, reducing and reusing.

The Upton community is proud of the efforts it has made to be Green.
