The mission of the Starr School Community is to create a safe, positive, and accepting environment for all learners by building partnerships among students, educators, families, and community to prepare all students to participate in an ever-changing world as responsible, lifelong learners.
Since 1998, parents and staff have worked together on the ‘Character Education Program.’ The ‘Schoolyard Habitat’ (Nature Center) is another joint project between the staff and the community. This project is funded through grants and other community-donated funds. Because of this project, a student garden club has been established, with families providing the garden maintenance. These are just two of the projects that make Starr a special place for children and their families.
