We will begin with ecosystems and the study of biotic relationships in nature.  This will lead us into the study of genetics and a brief overview of evolution and how things change over time.  We will then begin our earth science unit of the geo-sphere.  We will examine the rock cycle as well as how the surface of the earth is shaped and formed.  We will do a quick unit on water concerning its importance and how it travels on Earth.  An in-depth study of weather (how it forms and specific types) and space will follow. 

In order to grasp the many concepts above, we will use:  textbooks and supplemental readings, demonstrations, labs, projects, computers and the scientific method.  The students will be expected to be able to answer questions, analyze data to infer results, and back up their results with evidence.
