Living in Royal Oak for the past 20 years, my husband, Joseph, our 7-1/2 year old son, A.J., and our 4-1/2 year old daughter, Megan, we enjoy walking through the city's neighborhoods and parks and also enjoy the downtown shopping and eateries.
This is the start of my 11th year in the Royal Oak School District. I began teaching fourth and fifth graders at Starr Elementary and now start my seventh year at the middle school level. I am looking forward to an exciting school year working with a team devoted to the understanding of academic, social, and developmental growth of children.Within the sixth grade Language Arts curriculum, students will continue to build on the foundation set by their elementary years. Lessons will focus on continuing enhancement of their reading and writing skills, integrating personal knowledge and experience, in order to make connections throughout the curriculum and design an understanding of themselves and the world around them.My goal is to remain flexible and open-minded to new opportunities available to students, be consistent and fair for the purpose of modeling maturity and respect, and to also allow students to realize their potential. Working together with this in mind, it will be a positive and successful learning experience for your children. |
